Belated welcome to TPT!
The more experiences and opinions the better, imho, as we all have our biases, misconceptions, likes and dislikes. This diversity is what makes TPT such a great community and a resource. Occasionally, thick skin does come in handy here at times and some drama provides some comic relief.
As far as that specific brand goes, I have their 48" CFL, 24" CFL, 20" CFL, 36" t5ho, and 24" t5ho. I also have 4 of their PowerStations. The 48" was purchased over 10 years ago and served me well and is still over my 75g. I have been a loyal brand customer for years.
About 2 years ago now, I purchased 2 of their fixtures, one day apart. Both were defective out of the brand new sparkling box. Both were replaced. One of them twice. Many parts were sent to me free of charge over the following 6 months or so. Some parts, including blasts and bulbs, multiple times. 4 of the 4 PowerCenters still don't work reliably. The monetary cost is one thing, the time and effort is another - I still have pages and pages of emails.
The customer service treated me well. After I placed a direct call to their CEO.
