Are we getting more and more lazy by generation?

I surf the forums looking for various info, and I'm astounded by all the acronyms! It's Silly/Stupid!

"I got a ADA tank with CRS and i'm looking for lighting maybe CFL?"

What about fish? There's SAE, GBR, CAE, CPD, just to name a few?

What the @#*$% is that?

C'mon people! It doesn't hurt that bad to type!

I'm a man. I've been on this planet for 50 years. I'm smart, but not intellectual. I love seafood, but don't eat fish. I work to live, not live to work. I appreciate a good value, but I'm not a cheapskate.

...put that in your acronym.

and BTW, THXFATH everyone!

Actually the military has been using acronyms for years before it was "cool".

Call it lazy if you want, but I'd much rather type RCS than red cherry shrimp every time I answer a post about them.

I usually ignore those who can't/won't, make effort to provide proper sentences.
Ain't a bout to try and De-cipher their jibberish.

Really? Hobby acronyms bother you? Every single hobby I've known has its own set of terms and lingo.

Every profession does, too. Is it not easier to say DSLR instead of Digital Single Lens Reflex?

There's a big learning curve to the hobby.. When I joined I had to learn the acronyms as well, but once you know them they're hard to forget.

it doesnt bother me as much now since i know what most mean. But when i was new to the hobby it was frustrating since i had no clue what any of them meant.
Some times it still throws me now, for example...

"Should i put MTS in my tank?"

You want to put Multiple tank syndrome in your tank .... Huh ?
