Well, its been one heck of a day to say the least and just wanted to post my experience somewhere (thanks for listening). Our 2yr old cat Anders has had 3 urethral blockages in the last 2 months! Poor guy. He has been having trouble going to the bathroom, peeing outside his litter box and worst of all, getting COMPLETELY blocked up and having to go to every dog/cats favorite place: The VET.
Well today, after 4 failed attempts to catheter (and several hundred dollars later) the vet said he was unable to remove the block with a catheter and that the options at this point were very expensive surgery or euthanasia. Oh boy......
This little bundle of joy joined our family less than 6 months ago. He showed up at our door one night, got some attention, and that was that. Every day after that he showed up earlier and earlier. Not for food or water (which he was never given), but to be around us. He ended up jumping the fence and sitting at the back door waiting to be let in. We let him in : )
How on earth could I allow the sweetest little 2 year old red-point Siamese be put to sleep? It tore me up this morning being confronted with this. I spent all day trying to find someone to work on him and do so at an affordable rate (prices online indicate upwards of 4k).
Well, I am VERY happy to say Mr. Anders has just come out of surgery and the Dr. says he is on the up and up. Thank GOODNESS!
He'll be rejoining us come Monday, and hopefully from here on out we can manage his issues with environmental changes.
Anyways, just wanted to share my Friday with ya'll and I hope you enjoy this cute cat ; ) He's on top, Minnie is under.
