hi every one
ive been lurking for a while and i figure its time for me to start being an active member. i have been keeping fish all my life (horribly and ignorantly) till about 2/3 yrs ago when i joined a different forum. i learnt alot there about fish, now i have a 55g with some nice plants (bought from here) a 10g cherry shrimp tank, a 29g (currently unstocked but cycled) an empty 20g tank, 2 empty 10's and spare betta type tanks i use for live food cultivation (i would never keep a betta in those things...)
so my 55g set up i believe is had lighting for the low side of high, (2 6500K t5HO with a single polished aluminum reflector, ya know the nova extreme...) loads of plants ive completely forgot the names of, 20 pounds of flourite + 60 pounds of eco complete (i think its 60) no root tabs yet (will be adding when i move next week) daily dose of api CO2 booster (only 4mls a day) and weekly dose of seachem liquid fert.
my 10g atm only has java moss and a moss ball in it. with a clamp light and 23W cfl. im planning on making it better planted for my shrimp.
im studying to be an EE at college, graduating with my Associates this semester. im always looking at DIY stuff including LED's and running them more green... i have a querky sense of humor so i will be light on sarcasm and jokes until i get more comfortable here.
so thats my story, im here to learn more about the planted side of my tanks vs the stocking ive learnt from the other forum
