Is it just me or is the forum activity getting slower and slower? Maybe I'm just losing my mind.

I know what you mean, though this is certainly the most active forum I visit. I'm here every day.

It may have slowed because lots of answers are available here via the site's forum search and Google. Also, winter in the temperate regions of the Northern Hemisphere means the younger crowd is likely in school vs. working summer jobs to buy fish on impulse.

I've noticed a bit of slowing down as well as lots of people with the same old generic questions like low light plants because of this or that...

This forum still maintains a very well spoken user base at least, I can dig it. Some other forums are unpunctuated, rude and littered with typographical errors as well as gaudy advertising.

I think it's those things. I like to talk about shrimp, but I suspect there's only so many times I can go Woo! Shrimp!

Also, I'm sick and not as wriggly. But I am glad I got to do an RAOK and had fun with that.

The forum for my local club is lucky if it gets a new post a day. It sometimes goes several days without a single post. With this one there is almost always something to read, even if it isn't what I am mainly interested in.

It's not just you.

This is one of about 40 websites I have in my Google Reader. I check reader roughly the same time of the day every day. The number of new posts on this forum has declined.

But I still love it...

i've largely noticed that it's the same questions over and over, plant id (which i don't mind ), Stocking, Compatability, lowlight plants, beginner plants, etc... I think thats the way it's going to be until something new comes around.

Spring is springing. When spring springs, people start spending more time with other, espec. outdoor, activities. It's a cyclical thing with forums and happens every single year.

I'm not meaning a seasonal slowdown, just slower in general. Seems like it started at the changeover. I feel like a lot of the more experienced crowd is on here less or left. I haven't seen it this slow since I joined.

I have seen people come and go on this site (myself included). Sometimes it will be busy for a few months and then it seems really slow for no apparent reason. This is one of the most popular forums for planted aquariums so people will always be back whether they left out of "spite" due to the changes or just wanted to try out a new forum. They always come back. There is nothing like TPT and people quickly realize this...

The SnS change was the greatest amendment to the forum that could have happened but that's a whole different topic that's been discussed 1000 times in the past.

I always have this site up in my browser. I tend to cross my fingers hoping for more people near me to join and start posting, but no such luck But yes, there seems to be a decline.
