Seems like me. I just get it to play it when I have "spare" time. Basketball takes up 4 hours each day. Totally worth it though! Making 3s at a 65% rate out of 100.

Nope that's wrong. After a year you'd still be able to play at max if you already have a card that can play it at max right now. Its not like cards get worse over time cards that come out just get better. You'd have to wait a couple years for a game to come out that's made to push graphics to the next level to make your card work harder and not max a game.

Even then you can still custom tailor the settings of a game and turn some things down like AA (anti aliasing) which makes a huge impact and your frames per second. After about five years is when the card you have now might not be able to max the newest games that come out because I had an 8800gtx that still played games better than current consoles. Current consoles run games on all low settings maybe a medium setting here or there, they don't play games at true 1080p and they sure as heck don't play games at a buttery smooth 60frames per second.

Example? Far cry 3 on ps3 is on all low settings and plays the game at a choppy 25frames per second with dips all over the place.

You sound highly uninformed on the subject you speak down on.

Nah. Games played on computer are superior in every which way. Maybe you don't like using the superior controls of a mouse and keyboard? In which case you can easily hook up a 360 controller to your PC.

This is why I can't do FPS on the consoles, mouse and keyboard are 100x better. I've been playing FPS games since Doom and had my own coax network back then to play multiplayer FPS games and I've stayed to that 20 years later.

I still play games like battlefield and it's great to be accused of cheating at almost 40 years old because they're console babies trying to play in a big boy world. lol.

Yeah, I can only really do FPS on consoles. Mouse and keyboard, baby. But for some reason ever since my health started failing, I lost so much of my twitch reflex. I used to be a high schooler murdering people in Unreal and Unreal Tournament.

These days, I enjoy RPGs and such more. I like them on the PC and handhelds most of all. A lot of the big controllers just aren't little hand friendly and I kinda got tired of being yelled at by racist middle schoolers when I tried xbox live. "I'm cursing at you because it's the only adjectives I knoooooow!"

No thanks, little internet Timmy.

Graphically speaking, PCs tend to run loops around consoles. You also have much more upgradeability (aside from laptops, anyway). However, consoles ultimately are cheaper (if you ignore the cost of needing a decent TV and all that, anyway) depending. If you're willing to wait out steam sales and run a midline gaming PC, the PC might well be cheaper.

That said, there's honestly pros and cons of both. Go with what works for you and enjoy it.

x10

I have a GTX470 which came out in 2010, I can still play all games at ultra settings in 1080p I'm not even considering upgrading my graphics card till next year and thats only because I fancy changing not because I have to. Most Xbox and Ps3 games are only 720p and low to medium graphics, so it's no comparison.

Just do a search online if you don't think it's true.

PS4 is coming out when I just got a PS3...

The gtx 470 was a 350- 400 graphic card when you bought it in 2010 right now three years later you probably want another 300 or 400 dollar card. The Xbox was released in 2005 so that was 8 years ago and it's still putting out some good stuff yeah it may not be true 1080p but what was in 2005.

But we play at ultra settings or we really would like to, so we spend a little extra cash for better hardware. Also, do you remember the ps3s launch price? It was pretty darn spendy. Being able to play games at 60fps, ultra settings, with x4 or higher anti aliasing, 1080p resolution or even higher if you have a beastly rig is worth it imo.

Yeah it was but you get a good 10 years out of it. Sure if I could go back to a time before a wife and kids and had loads of disposable money I'd have a beast of a computer too. I guess I also grew up on a console and Love being able to sit back on the couch with a controller vs a mouse and key board at a desk.

there is no reason you can't sit down on the couch while playing computer games on your pc. hdmi cable for video/audio and bluetooth controller.

It hasn't been ten years and its age is clearly showing. You're complaining about new technology, of course new stuff is going to have a steep price...I could go back 7 years and buy a cheap old graphics card but that would be stupid. And yea you can easily hook up your pc to your tv and plug a wired 360 controller in...

OR even just a wireless mouse and keyboard would suffice

Just so you know the Xbox 360 was launched to the public on March 30, 2005 and has the equivalent graphics card to a 7800GT, also from 2005.

Yeah was about $360 that sort of money although mine would have been in GBP. :P I'm not planning to upgrade till at least next year when they release the Maxwell 800 series Nvidia graphics cards and probably would spend up to about $600-650 on it.

Tbh I prefer paying that sort of money to get the best graphics and gaming experience possible than half that on an (another) xbox. These days my xbox is used for Rock Band and the occasional Halo 3. I'll probably also buy Destiny when it comes out because it looks wicked.
