RIP Grandpa Bob

Today my grandfather Bob, my mom's father, passed away at the age of 88. My mom, dad, and grandmother (his wife of nearly 70 years) were at his side. They brought him home today so that he could pass on at home in the presence of his loved ones. RIP Grandpa, I will always love you and miss you.

I'm sorry for your loss. Although difficult, it was nice that he was surrounded by his family at home, rather than in a hospital setting.

My condolences.

I lost my grandfather in a similar situation to yours. He had been battling a brain tumor for years before his condition got worse. He didn't lose to cancer, his heart was too weak from the chemo. He knew it was his time and requested to have his hospital bed and equipment taken to his house, which he built from the ground up with his own two hands. He passed shortly after in the winter of '06 around his family of 20+ members at the ripe age of 78.

I don't think he could have been any happier toward the end.

Im sorry to hear that, he is at peace now.

I only have one grand parent left now, she has pretty advanced Alzheimers. I lost A grand father two years ago at an age of 93, my grandmother the year before that at an age of 90 and my first loss 6 years ago at 78

Thank you all. I went in to work today, but I wasn't in any condition to work so my boss let me take the day off.

My brother called me last night and said that grandpa will be cremated, and when the family is all together (maybe at Christmas) we will scatter his ashes.

Try not to be sad he's gone, be happy you had him in your life.

Keep him in your heart and he will be with you forever.

Grandparents always seem to be special. Almost as much as parents. Sometimes more. I'm 53 and still miss mine.

Our family's prayers and thoughts are with you.

God Bless

Sorry for your loss.

I too, had a Grandpa Bob on my mother's side. He was awesome. I still wear his wedding band on my dog tags every day. At some point it'll be plated and sized to fit me as my wedding band. Something about Grandpa Bobs is just a little extra special.

I used to be indecisive but now I'm not so sure.
