Can't sleep, thinking about future move

It's not even planned or expected at this point but I know that one day we are going to have to move.

I'm laying here unable to sleep slightly panicked about what I will do with my tanks when this day comes.

Chances are, due to our circumstances it will be short notice and will all have to happen within a few days. Not great for figuring out what to do with fish.

Anyway, just trying to get that out of my head so maybe I can sleep!

Sweet dreams everyone, and may they be filled with amazing aquascapes!

i know how you feel. I have 4 tanks currently, and I think about it all the time. but i've learned to just enjoy every moment of it. life is to short to be stressed out. if i could add another tank in my room i would.

Yeah, I've been a ball of worry and stress since I was born. I'm working on it though.

Luckily the worry hasn't been enough to keep me from enjoying my tanks. I just finally got my 50 scaped in a way I really like, and all the livestock are fun and spunky. The thought of taking it all down and possibly having to get rid of everything and start over at a later time is depressing.

But yeah, I need to learn NOT to think ahead all of the time. I should know by now trying to plan for the future and where I want to be rarely ever works out, heh.

Carpe diem right?

Here is a crappy cell phone pic of the latest scape. Things have grown up a bit since the picture but you get the idea.

How about writing down a plan of action that is as complete as you can possibly make it and put it someplace you know you can find it fast no matter what. Make sure you have any supplies you may need to move the tanks, buckets mostly. You could even make up an imaginary time line of how long different steps should take. Then you can stop worrying about what will happen if you have to move without much notice as you have a thought out plan made up.

I can do that up to a point, the biggest thing I worry about is not being able to have a big tank where we would go. We might have to live in a hotel for a time until we get a place, etc. Or we may end up moving across the country:/

I will focus on a plan that involves keeping and moving everything though, and if it comes to not being able to take everything then I'll try begging some friends and/or family to let me set up the tank at their place and I'll come and take care of it until I can do something else, heh. I can see the looks of annoyance from my family now!

I already have tubs for creatures to be moved in, just need to get a battery operated air pump or two. Some 5 gallon buckets with lids would be a good idea though, the tubs would be a bit hard to move with much water in them now that I'm thinking about it... I could use them for plants, wood, and substrate though.

I'll have to check the details on the inverter we have for the truck too, see how much it could power on the move.

Keep trying not to panic and i have moved house before, its horrible. Fortunatly we only had a couple of 20g Longs and a 55g but aprt from that it was fine, all we did was kept them at my grandparents house as they love fishy. It was only 3 hour drive so we just left the fish and plantsa in some 20 liter tubs and dropped them off at my grandparents. good luck
