You can't surf TPT while he watches?
You have to be a master of distraction when dealing with kids. "Suggest" him to do other stuff like play outside. Take him to a park etc... I'm sure part of the reason he wants to see Toy Story partly is to be with you.
It is raining cats and dogs outside. He WANTs to go out and ride his trike around.... but we're running out of ways to occupy him inside after 5 days of rain. The trike in the basement is only making him so happy.
We only have the tv on in our house for 2 hours a day, and he won't even watch it for more than 15 minutes.... but it ends up being on in the background for the rest of the movie.
The great part about my schedule is I am home with him exactly 50 percent of the year. I work 3 on, 3 off.
How old is he? All kids go through those things--we watched Shrek at least a zillion times when my son was 2-3 years old.
He's 2. So this is very much the phase. It started with Nemo when he was around a year. He'd walk around doing a fishy "kissing" face when he wanted to watch it. He loves my tanks though.
a friend of mine's kid was 2-3 and obsessed with finding nemo. watched it all day everyday. i can;t even look at "nemo fish" in a pet store without cringing (or starting to just quote the movie word for word).
we were able to get him to take a break from it with planet earth, but then he would only want to watch the ones with fish.
my friend also tried to set up a reef tank for his son lol, but i don;t think it worked out well. not easy to care for a reef, 180 gallon cichlid tank, 69 bowfront planted discus tank, and a 3 year old kid lol.
good luck breaking him of it. my friends kid who is now 4 is really into the lego video games, and has a ds so he doesn;t take the tv all the time wanting to play....
Trains are how we've reduced tv.... and he loves being read to. He really loves bringing my nook to me to beg for me to read to him.
If you watch all of the Pixar movies instead of just one, it does ease the pain somewhat.
They are all the same to me....

I loved that movie! Has he seen the 1st 2?
Yup. Have all three. and just about every disney and pixar movie ever made. The only other one he likes much now is Beauty and the Beast....
Haha, I went through that stage with the little mermaid when I was a kid! It'll pass, just keep trying to distract him with other things.... like a 10 gallon guppy tank with toy story 3 action figures in it :P
We have a few 10g tanks decorated for him. A snowball tank with Bubbler decor. A bubble t-rex. A bubble diver. A bubble chest. and a bubble nemo.
This is how I convince my wife of more tanks. One for me... one for him....
Since he was about a year he's had a 10g in his room. He can't reach it... yet....
