Can someone tell me if there is a journal out there for this tank?

I don't know whose tank this is, or if they are a member here, or if they have a journal out there on one of the planted aquarium forums? I hope he or she would not be upset by my posting this picture, but if so, I will happily and quickly remove it.

There are a few aquascaping techniques featured here that I would like to know more about, so I'm hoping to find more info about it. Thanks!

TBH the stone on the left bothers me because it is different than the other ones, but that's just me. Everything else looks pretty good though.

I think the tall stone should be moved more to the left and fill in the gap in the grass.

LOL, I guess this is somehow turning into an aquascape critique thread.

lol, sorry
It just struck me. It's impressive otherwise. What were you wanting to know?

Honestly, I have a whole crapload of questions, but it will be difficult to list them out here. So I guess, the real question here is simply if anyone knows whose tank this is and if he or she has a thread detailing the creation of it.

It's not even that the questions I have are specific to this tank, but someone is going to pay me to put together an aquascape for them, and this was the picture that they found online and emailed to me, to show me what "style" tank they are looking for overall. And so I wanted to hopefully see some pictures of the progression of this tank, as that usually helps me to see some of the details about terracing, what they planted where, how long it took for things to fill in, and what mistakes they ran into along the way.

So if I can't find what I'm looking for, I'll basically just start scouring the old journals to look for a similar one. I recognize that it is a fairly "traditional" type of an aquascape, so I'm sure I'll find what I'm looking for.

Thanks for chiming in though.

Sweet deal man. I think the key to that scape is a very steep substrate slope. Riccia mixed in with the glosso and other foreground plants. Eventually, the eleocharis in the back may invade the foreground, but that would take a while.
Not sure if that really answered anything that you didn't already know.

No it did! You see what I'm doing, then. I'm just trying to go back and look at the specifics behind what I know to be the general applications here, that's all. I've personally never had the money to do an ultra badass tank like this one, or the even better ones that we see in the ADA and AGA contests, so now that I'll be using someone else's money, it's time for me to do some more homework!

Great
Those are also green neons and there are various ways to accomplish the lighting effect in the backround such as having a background maybe 2-6 inches (or maybe more) behind the tank, but not actually on the glass.

Awesome! That gives me a starting point, thanks! Don't suppose you'd know if there was ever a journal anywhere for this tank? Even if it's in a language foreign to me, I might be able to have some of my questions answered by photos...

This is one of Tikashi Ogamo's (not sure of spelling)
It was in one of his books that I used to have.

I just went and looked up the photos of the results of that year, and once I came across #11, I flipped my lid! I think that might be what I'm looking to recreate for my 20-long!!

But anyway back on topic.. thanks for looking that up for me, it was very helpful. I've already begun Googling his name. And even if I don't find a journal for this exact tank, I'm sure I'll be able to answer my own questions by just looking at journal threads of similar tanks right here on TPT.

JoePhish, are you talking about Takashi Amano? If so, then no it's not one of his tanks. It does look like it could be though.

Same here! I like 11 as well. Also, 22 kinda looks similar. I like that one also. Thing I would change with 22 though is the sand in the middle. I would just fill that out with the carpet plant.
