LOL! I probably should have mentioned that I hadn't bothered trimming them yet. The bands around the driftwood won't be too noticeable once it's in my tank because I plan on putting quite a few plants around it when I do my rescape. I actually prefer the black zip ties because the clear ones tend to look more white than clear, in my opinion.

Thanks again for comments, everyone! I'm really liking this piece. Now to get started on the rescape...I'll start a journal when I do.

Send TPT member Badcopnofishtank a message with what types of branches you want. That's where I got all of the wood I used to build this arrangement. He has decent prices and will put together pieces that match what you're looking for.

Two things

1) what are you going to use to cover the zip ties? (Java moss)

2) how are you going to keep them sunken or is manzanita too dense to float?

Great structure though. I can't wait to see it set up and planted.

The plants actually covered up what was left of the zip ties after I trimmed them down. I just used a large ugly rock to hold it down until it sank naturally, which took a little under 2 weeks. It may have taken less time but I didn't test it until about day 10. The link to the journal in which I used this arrangement is the 58 gallon in my signature and will eventually be put into my 105 gallon, once I get going on that project. I'll be adding a few more pieces of Manzanita though to better fill out the larger space.

Well done, Digsy. I actually used your construction as inspiration for what I just did in my recently set up 26gal. bow front. My digital camera sucks, but I'll send you a picture if I decide to try and take one.

Thanks Comatoast! I'd love to see a picture of your arrangement when you take one.
