easy way to clean ohko stone?

Would boiling the stone help reduce the clay thickness in the holes?I know there s a lot of scrubbing involved ,but can someone tell me the easiest way to clean this great looking stone? For the moment I spray it with water inside a bucket and use a toothbrush to get in the holes.Could I break it by boiling?

I went for it and boiled it ,clay got softer and the stone broke into several smaller pieces.....They were easier to clean though .......
