emersed growth at top water level

Hello!

This tank has been setup about 6 weeks ago. The filter is from a previous tank so its cycled already. The root wood sticks out about and inch above the water level. I have anubias nana growing out of the top which will look nice when the plants take off. Problem is the exposed wood is having bacteria and mould growing on the top forming tiny white colonys. will this pass as the wood becomes saturated?

does anybody have such a setup or tips for when the plants are encouraged to grow above water level,

Cheers,

I have a similar setup with a Golden Pothos plant growing on a piece of driftwood sticking out of the water. The white stuff has been growing on the part of the wood above the water since the beginning, but I haven't observed any ill effects.

I hear Starcraft! You can try using some h2o2 on the mold before a water change.
