Careful with the superglue. I have slow drying araldite (epoxy resin) that has a big picture on the tube with an upside down fish on it and in the small print it says "hazardous to aquatic life". I would guess that this particular stuff has a nasty additive in it since the quick drying araldite (also epoxy resin) has no warnings on it.
On the other hand why take the risk when marine engineering grade silicone is cheap and proven to be safe.
