Hi all,

Quick question. I searched for about 10 minutes and didn't come up with an answer -- but maybe I was searching for the wrong things.

If I want to grow a carpet of dwarf hairgrass -- can I still have a few floating plant (I was thinking frogbit)? Will this interfere too much with the light for the dwarf hairgrass?

I'm dosing CO2 and have a Fluval Aqua Fresh & Plant 2.0 LED light on a 20 gallon long.

Thanks for your help!

I keep both with no issues. Obviously, if the surface is too much covered with floaters then the amount of light reaching the bottom gets cut a lot. I periodically thin out the floaters.

One thing to consider, based on the current, the floaters start "congregating" in some part of the tank. If it's right over your hairgrass, move the outflow a bit.
