Indulgence: A 12 Gallon Long
So, despite the fact that I'd managed to whittle my tanks down by 2/3 when we moved a little over 18 months ago, my obsession started again. My sweet, wonderful husband gave me a 12 gallon long Mr. Aqua for the holiday this year! I am still trying to decide what I'm going to do with it, but here are my specs so far:
Mr. Aqua 12 gallon Long
Finnex 24/7 36" (scored on Amazon during their Lightning deals!)
1 bag of Aquavitro Aqua Solum (a thank-you gift from my friend Josh for not killing his tanks while he was out-of-town)
Miscellaneous rocks and petrified wood I've found
1 bag of CaribSea Flourite Black Sand
I know I want to do the DSM with this tank. I want to bank the substrate up toward the back and have a watery area at the front. I will probably not fill the tank completely -- I have some marginal plants I'd like to plant along the back.
I'm waiting on the CaribSea to arrive. I also need to lug my buckets of rocks in from the garage (yes, I made my poor, sweet husband lug four big buckets of rocks with us when we moved).
I think I'll be planting some DHG, some of the beautiful H. "Japan" meoschwitz sent me, and other stuff I pilfer from some of my other tanks. I am not sure I want to run CO2 in this tank, so everything will be fairly low-tech.
I'm so excited to get started! I will take pictures tomorrow when there's better light and I'm not exhausted.
