Nice tank with nice plants, nice arowanas and nice arrangement.

Probably feed them live crickets & centipedes?
Definitely not fish since the arowanas might hurt their barbels.

Those certainly are amazing. What size tank is normally needed to house an aro? Are there any special requirements rather than the obvious (huge tank, lots of filtration)?

Kyle

Kyle
I have one in my parent's house. He's close to 2feet long and housed in a custom tank (thicker glass) (8'Wx2'Hx2.5'D). Feed him gold fish and crickets daily. Centipedes, frogs, shrimps and lizards (all life food) as treats. He refuses to take dead feeders.

Arowana is not really demanding. The main problem I have is the life food. Sometimes, he gets sick because of bad or dirty feeders. I think if you get the small ones to begin with, you can train them to eat prepared food.

maintenance must be a pain in the butt...
I kept several arowanas before and always used bare bottom tank (painted black) with no plants/decor.
best of all filter is a must
