My 36 Gallon Bowfront Start

Just thought I would add a pic of my bowfront to get some suggestions. Fluval 305 filter, Eco Complete, DIY CO2 with Nano Diffusor. Lights are a Dual 24 Watt T5 6700, and a 55 Watt CF 10,000 (AH Supply conversion). Just over 3 WPG. Been cycled then up about a month. Plants are basic, Anubias Nana, Anubias Hastifolia, Rotala Indica, Crypt Wendtii, Rubins Sword, and then a couple of patches of HC which are not going to make it unfortunately and I will be pulling out once I give up on them.

Long term plan is to let Rotala grow up and trim halfway, replant stem across back and in right rear corner to try to get a good wall of rotala covering most of the back. I would still like a lawn of some type but I am afraid HC is not going to work so I am looking at perhaps dwarf hairgrass, blyxa, etc. I also would like to add some Fissidens to areas on the driftwood. So if anyone has Fissidens or Blyxa PM me, I will buy. Suggestions on placement problems or plant selections welcome.

Inhabitants are 5 Oto's, 7 White clouds and 2 peacock gudgeons...there are a couple of Chinese Rasbora's there too left over from cycling but they are headed to another tank for cycling soon. I just ordered 4 Discus, 2 striated blue and 2 brilliant blue from Al at Rocky Mountain Discus. Arriving next Thursday.

And my best shot of my Peacock.

Rotala Indica

Cheers.

Nice tank. I've been subscribed to your thread to see how the outcome is with the discus. Very nice.

Update. I have to say I have found the magic elixir in this Flourish Excel. It is amazing stuff. The BBA I had is GONE and not a speck of algae has regrown since I started dosing it. During the overdose phase my discus got lethargic but after the 5 day overdose phase I cut back to just 5 ML every other day and they are doign great now. Here is some pics. I added some Java moss and I have some Blyxa on the way from SwapNShop.

I'm soo sorry I haven't replied!! The tank looks great!!

Worms are usually part of the aquarium and disappear or stablize numbers. They USUALLY aren't a problem.

Great looking setup. Love the discus, they have some great colour. The plant selection is nice. As you said just need to get some lawn going ;-)

Growing in nicely. I still hate the out of control crypt in the front right but have not taken the time to replace it or decided on what to replace it with. Suggestions?

Nice start and nice discus although they may become a little cramped as they grow.
I'd try moving the crypt to the back left (Where the white clouds are in the last pic) to see how it looks.

Tank looks nice! I am not a fan of the crypt either. It has grown way to tall for its location. hate to see you seal with uprooting it though.

Love the fish selection.
