60gal Honey Blue-eye Biotope

A new year and a brand new tank! Got this 60gal beauty for Christmas and have spent this month setting it up.

My plan is to start a breeding colony of the endangered Honey Blue-eye (Pseudomugil mellis) through the C.A.R.E.S. preservation program. Plants will probably just be Val. nana and moss for the wood. I want to do my best to create a biotope habitat for the species.

Equipment:
- Visio 60gal - 48" x 15.5" x 17.5"
- Current FW Led +
- Hydor Koralia Nano 425
- Eheim 200W Heater
Substrate:
- Pool sand

Here's a look at the build:

Thanks! The wood has been dubbed "The Moose" by my dad heheh.

The rest of the sand is in. All I need now is plants and fish!

Not much to say for these past two months. I put some java moss on the wood about a week ago, got some vals around the back. Gonna try and pick up the fish this week or next, tank has been sitting empty way too long!

Alright! Got some fish! Really hard to catch them with a smartphone camera. They're zippy little fellas.

Problem is... I don't think what I received are P. mellis. I think they are the very similar P. signifer... Still a cool fish, no doubt.
