10g Mossy Jungle

Hello everyone! This is my 10 gallon medium-tech (running DIY co2 because my old co2 reg broke down on me) tank that I scaped solely on the intent of having a non-planted hardscape only tank. I got quickly bored of that and then dry started the hairgrass and moss you sen there now. The rest of the plants haven't been in the tank longer than a week and already growing nicely. Humble beginnings, but I'm really looking forward to this tank filling in. Thinking of purchassing some more ferns or maybe even bolbitis? Also, the wood is still leaching tannins, so the water is very tinted and gross. Anyways, thanks for looking! And always looking for advice or criticism.

NL & windelov java fern
Peacock moss
Eleocharis sp belem - Limnophila Repens mini
Myrio Ghuyana
Rotala Rotundifolia
Hygro. sunset
Purple cabomba
Myrio Red
Bacopa monnieri
Ludwigia x arcuata

8x Rosy tetras
5x Gold barbs
1x Julii cory
1x Bristlenose pleco

Love the texture of the driftwood, especially the lower section. Reminds me of layered Sheetrock/cliff ridges. And the moss ontop.

Your oversize light and barely hanging on HOB filter remind me of a Muscle Machine with the exaggerated motor and wheels

That's exactly why I thought when I found the pieces!!!! I wanted to make use of those areas too by leaving some areas bare.

Love the scape, try doing more water changes to keep the algae at bay

1 week update! Water is clearer, plants have grown a ton! Moss looking alot greener. A little bit of what I'm assuming is blue green algae... it's a darker green and is slimy. Thinking it might be because I was dosing half the recommended dosage of EI on accident.. had the figures mixed up and am now back up to recomended dosage as of today. I did some H2o2 spot treatments just today, so hopefully I will see an improvement in that.

Trim on some of the stems in the back, also removed the gold barbs as they were pulling up the hairgrass! Expecting more plants in the next few days.

Everything growing in nicely. Did a second trim on most of the stems. Also upped the gH from 3 to 6 as some of the thicker stems were showing signs of calcium deficiency.
