He is cute. But (hey this is a planted tank forum) what is that plant with the little buds growing from those long stems? It almost looks like flowers growing submersed...

It's a dwarf puffer. For more info: http://www.dwarfpuffers.com

They are tiny, but fierce and should generally be kept in a species tank. I want one too, but don't have room for another tank. Ok, I don't have room to tastefully incorporate another tank. Maybe if I clear off enough counter space in the kitchen, I can do a nano.

Really nice shot of the puffer, what size tank is this?

I have a dwarf puffer about the same size. I was fearful of him being fierce, but he is very timid. He just floats around and never bothers anyone.

It's actually pretty easy to tell them apart. There are only a couple of puffers that resemble it, and none close enough to confuse them. It is a bit hard to find them. Look around, ask a store you trust if they would order a couple for you.

Look into your area Petsmarts, that's where I found mine. She is in a 10" cube tank~4.3 gallons by herself. Great little fish.

i went to couple petsmart, they carry those dragon fish aka green spot dragon which are brackish, they stop carrying the dwarf puffer due to the fact most people get them because they are cute and cheap, and they always ending up getting 5 - 6 for a small 10g tank, ending up too many people returning it because they were biting and fighting, i tried to have them special order but they won't do it... and there isn't a lfs i trust in town, most just wants ur money, the only place that will order for me, i have to get at less 2 and they are 30 a piece...
