That scape with the stump is beautiful. I can't wait to see the carpet fill in on this tank, you take your time and do it right. I think an arrangement of A. nana and A. nana "petite" around the hardscape would look really nice and give a nice full, round look.

And as for red plants, I have recently had success with Alternanthera reineckii, a bright red stem plant, in a couple of my tanks.

Thanks everyone. I have a bunch of petite nanas growing outside in my pond waiting for me to flood the tank. I was planning on using it for the base of the stump. The stump is actually three large pieces of Malaysian driftwood. Once I place my moss and all the other surrounding plants you won't be able t see the joints. Although you can't really tell right now even up close.

The Flood

Ok so going against better judgement I'm going to flood the tank ahead of schedule only because i need to get certain plants underwater and hit with high light and co2. I don't have a nurse tank to keep them in so i have to flood the tank. Usually i wait till the foreground is filled in before i flood.

I have HC and e. Flauvesence for the front and middle foreground. I have M. Minuta scattered throughout the foreground also. I planted some nana petite and regular nana among the rocks and also some mini pelia on the rocks and stump. In the background i have some val nana and rotala butterfly in the mid. I will add some bucepheladria and trident ferns in the background. i also have something like a tiger lotus on the right of the stump not too sure what the actual name is.

Here are some pictures of the flooding

Sorry about the brown water but hopefully it clears up in a couple of days. Don't mind some of the rocks on the driftwood on the left. I put them there to hold down the wood just in case it starts to float they will be removed in a few days when i know that the wood is soaked.

Also ill be replacing the green outflow and intake with custom clear acrylic spray bars and intake tube.

Hope you like it. Ill keep you updated on the tank

There are 2 types of people on this forum. Those that have algae, and those that lie and say they don't.

ok so here is an update on the tank. I did a little trimming on the HC because it was growing thick rather than spreading out. The HC is almost done carpeting the areas where i want them to carpet. The New E. Flauvesence is growing rather slow but it was what i had expected from this hair grass. Also my marselia minuta is growing slow but steady. The Val Nanas behind the stump hasn't quite filled in so I'm just waiting to see how that fills in before i start messing with the mid ground. The rotala butterfly is not coming out how i wanted it too so i may remove that if it doesn't bounce back.

sorry about that unsightly powerhead in the left corner but i had to install one because i was having a lot of dead spots created by the stump. My 2217 doesn't have enough flow to circulate around the tree so i had to install one.

I also made some custom acrylic intake and outflow spray bars to get rid of the visible green eheim bars so now it doesn't stick out like a sore thumb.

My buces are starting to produce new leaves i have a total of 6 different species so far. Im really liking the buces especially now that their colors are starting to come out. I can't wait till they start to flower.

I put in 11 horned bumble bee nerite to help with the algae maintenance along with 3 SAE's and one calico pleco. I also added one of my favorite fishes the scarlet badis basis.

Im still having problems figuring out my lighting positioning. I can see that my HC is growing tall and looking a little yellowish brown, my rotala butterfly is loosing its beautiful red color. Im not sure if i have too much light or not enough light.

Photo period is 8 hours for my TEK t5 ho 4 bulb with midday and aquaflora combo 10 1/2 inches suspended from surface of water. got my pressurized co2 going pretty hard not really paying attention to the bubbles on my counter rather just watching my fishes and snails reactions.

I want to start dosing but i still have problems with green dust algae all over the glass.
so im not sure if fertz introduction will make it worse.

so here are some pcis enjoy!
chime in anytime with suggestions or comments
