What a difference moving a few rocks can make.

Now its freakin perfect.

When I suggested it, I had no Idea it was gonna make such a big an impact on the overall look of the tank.

Marcel

Edit:Thats funny, I switched the tags on your original post.

You have got a beautiful tank there. Perfect, as Marcel says.

My usual gripe: hide the spraybar... but no biggie

Ya, you are right Wasserpest, that spray bar was pretty ugly. All gone. Much better.

Yup the spraybar was included. I got the 2213 with the media and the quick disconnects included. It works really well. I did need to get a 90 degree elbow at the hardware store to make it all work right but that was it.. everything else was included.

Where did you pick up the slate rocks? They look great. I'd be interested in getting some for my new tank.

You have a beautiful tank!

I got the slate at my LFS. Most of it is from two big chunks that I whacked with a hammer until I got the pieces the sizes I wanted. There are probably cheaper sources but I am not sure where that might be.

The colors in your pictures are very natural. May I ask what camera you are using? In full tank images, I always struggle with the contrast differences between the upper and lower parts of the tank, but yours seem just perfect... how do you do it?

I must say, your tank is by far my favorite of all I have seen on the web!

In addition to wasserpest's question, it could be the lighting that makes everything look so stunning and natural. What brand and model bulb are you using? Is it the 5300K from AHS?

Also, are you using any diatom or water polisher? Your water is crystal clear!

Thanks guys, I am honored that you think my tank looks nice. It took me a long time to get to this point.

To answer Wasserpest's question; I use a Canon PowerShot G1, activated by its remote control, on a tripod with the TV mode enabled. I think the close-ups of the plants are all in macro mode. I feel your pain. I have had over exposure problems in the past and TV mode seems to solve it. TV mode allows for shutter priority and I think that prevents over exposure. Over exposure is probably more of a problem on high-light tanks.

To answer Rolo737's questions, I am using a standard AH Supply 5300k 55w CF lamp. I do have a diatom filter for polishing the water after a major uproot but I havent used it in quite a while. Because my tank is relatively small, I run my tap water through an AQ Tap Water Filter and that seems to make it nice and clean. It probably doesnt hurt things that I do a 40-50% water change every week too.
