I like snails too.. but I have seen dwarf chain loaches tear em up... they are good in groups and very fun to watch

The assassins do multiply but not nearly as fast as the other snails you are used to. My personal opinion they look cool, add a nice black/yellow colour to the tank, and IF you are really concerned about them over populating you can remove the baby assassins pretty easily.

How about zebra loaches? They stay pretty small. I believe they max out around 4 inches.

So many good options. I think I may go to assassin snail route to allow myself the ability to put more fish in. Since it seems a small has a lower bio load then a fish.

Do you mean the dwarf zebra hovering loaches? They stay under 2 inches as adult, I'm looking to get some for a smaller tank I have since they stay short.
