36g corner tank

Finally got the tank up and running today. I last had this tank set up back in 2007-9 then took it down due to moving, etc. Been completely without a tank since last November so very excited to get this one going.

36g corner tank
24" 10000K LED strip (from buildmyled)
EcoComplete fine substrate
XP2
will have CO2 once I actually get some plants in there

Welcome to TPT and back to the hobby!

I am starting to re-do an identical tank and am curious how you will set yours up.

I used to have a corner tank, no matter what I did I hated it. I could never get the scale the way I wanted and ended up selling it

After 8 years or so I am still trying to figure out the circulation ...

How many bags if eco-complete did you use and how do you like the light/coverage?

Thanks!

Three 20 lb bags - looks to be just about perfect.

Just got some plants in the tank today, so will take a little while to see how the lighting does. Coverage seems good (except for the back corner, as expected) but right now it doesn't seem as bright as I was expecting, but the driftwood is leaching tannins like there's no tomorrow so the water isn't exactly clear. I put some carbon in the filter and did a PWC today, will continue PWCs until the water clarity gets better. After that I can give a better assessment of the lights.

I had this tank set up for about 3 years with no obvious circulation problems with the XP2 (by "no problems" I mean no areas with accumulations of crud, and no BGA or other algae indicating low flow). The CO2 diffuser is a small powerhead which I usually place in the back corner pointing towards one of the front corners so that helps too.
