A few people have been asking about it so I decided to clean it up a little tonight and take a photo of it. I don't really get to see this tank often since I'm always at my apartment and this is at my parents place. It was just something I slapped together 5 months ago before I moved out.
How do you find the Giant Hairgrass (I presume that's what it is in the back) growing for you. According to my calculations (and I know its an inaccurate measure, but...) you've got about 4wpg of light. I've tried growing it before and it just died on me initially when I planted it in my other tank. I'm tempted to try it again with more light, any suggestions?
styxx1- That's Isoetes sp. Very hard for me to find. But about your giant hairgrass, it might have been growing emerged and when you submerged it, it died. It's very normal for hairgrass to be grown like that, since it does grow faster emerged. So it might have not bounced back for you? Or you took it out while it was almost going to bounce back. The difference between Isoetes and Giant harigrass is that Isoetes bends, which I like and hairgrass grows up. Your light is good and hairgrass need plenty of ferts in the water.
turtlehead,
I suspect that your right about that, it probably was grown emerged and it didn't bounce back, so I took it out (the only thing left were the roots!) You mention that the hairgrass grows straight up and that's the characteristic that I like about it so much. I think 6.5wpg is high enough don't you? lol. I'll just make sure that my ferts are decent when I plant it...any way I can get some Isoetes sp.??!
you're an idiot regardless mike. lol. no, not all rasboras get really large. it depends on what specie. ex. brilliants get pretty large, espei's stay really tiny.

i love how you say, "It was just something I slapped together 5 months ago before I moved out." plenty of us couldn't try to "slap" what you put together in a million years!!! :hihi: i'm so jealous.
The rasboras I have get 3 inches long, but that's what I'm hoping for, I have 20 in there, it should be dramatic if they were given a chance to reside in this tank for longer than I have expect. But unfortunately I'll be moving back to Hong Kong soon, so the tank is about to end. Sadly.....
Here is the tank at 9.5 months, it's almost the beginning of the end as I am about to move to Hong Kong. Great growth, great experience..... Kinda sad to see it go....
