You picked some great rocks, they have interesting shapes and surfaces.

Thanks! I bought 2 seperate packages from 2 different vendors on the forum. I didnt like the largest one at first, but i've warmed up to it now and quite like it because it leaves space for stems to grow behind the rocks.

Little update: the stand is nearly finished! Just have to make sure its level etc, then I can finally start this tank! its been a long time coming
I am going to order aquascaping tools, peristaltic pumps, fertz, and a new MH bulb later this week, and then I will have everything I need to start up. My plants in the emersed setup are doing well, the HC has grown to manageable proportions and all of the crypt and moss are healthy.

Yep! We should start a MN planted club...
We had to special order from lowes because no homedepot, menards or lowes carries formica in black at their stores

Ugh nope :/

It should be "up" within the next 2 months. I have everything ready to go, I just need to order a few plants, get the the co2 tank filled, and hang the light!

I will update this weekend with the planned scape, emersed tub and moss setup I have going.

Right the now plant list looks like this:

Poaceae sp. "purple bamboo"
Bacopa caroliana
Glosso
Echinodorus tennellus
Cryptocryne wendtii "bronze" (or maybe brown)
Vesicularia sp.
crytocryne pond.
Cryptocryne parva
- I still need to source the bamboo, parva, and bacopa, and I'll order the tennellus before the flood since im not sure if it grows well emersed. But correct me if im wrong. Everything else is growing in my emersed setups along with a few other species.

For your stem plants in the emersed, how often do you have to most them?

Never! I add water every 2-3 months and some fertz, but the plants take care of the rest.
