My planned Crypt/ Anubias Emersed tank
So i have a ghetto tupperware emersed set up going but its unsightly and thrown together.
Im planning to use a 10 gallon tank i have laying around. Im going have a piece of glass cut for the top to fit a little loosely. Ive read that using plastic or acrylic can make them warp and id rather not have to worry about it caving in.
I was gonna use a 10" dome light with a undetermined wattage cfl which i will have resting on the glass for optimal light and heat exchange for the plants. Depending on condensation on the top piece of glass i may rise the light or prop the glass up a little to allow some humidity to escape.
I was looking at using 3" rigid plastic mesh pots with coco tek liners and probally potting soil in there. Anyone used anything like this before? I bought a few green plastic pots from lowes for like $.57 each and the mesh pots and coco liners would roughly cost me the same. But with 3" pots i could fit 18 pots in my 10 gallon set up.
Any thoughts, opinions, critiques so far? Any experience with what im planning?
Now ive been reading various things about emersed set ups and some people have water flow and others dont. Benefits? Draw backs I have a few ideas of doing this with just some air line and a single air pump and taking a tac to the airline like an air sprinkler of sorts.
Im in the planning stages of this and will be getting this going in about 2 weeks and then i need plants.
So let me here anything
