My Riparium/Planted Tank

It is currently a 10g tank, but will be upgrading very soon to a 40 breeder.

Got this from Petco, and of course through research I found out that this is not a fully aquatic plant so I decided to put it in a planter and see how it does. The scientific name didn't even match the common name....how pathetic.

Pandanus Utilis, Aluminum Plant and Dwarf Umbrella thanks to Riparium Supply ^__^

Don't know if you can see him but I got 2 baby blue rams today. Hoping to breed them in the 40g.

Will be doing a little bit better job at aquascaping for the 40 gallon.

1 of 2 blue velvet shrimp in this tank, fleeing from my phone.

the 2nd of the 2 blue velvets...

My Riparium seeds, will be setting them up in the 40b too.

I love those riparium planters. Aren't they the best? It will be interesting to see a 40 tank with planters.

What seeds are you growing?

The ones that are sprouting in the picture or Mexican Milkweed, Paddy Rice and one that I forgot the name to.

Kind of bummed my Sabal Minor and Anona Glabra haven't sprouted yet. Hope they germinate

Well this is no longer going to turn into a 40B as I decided I could just use a 20g long I originally had as a reef tank instead. But SURPRISE I never took this one down either! But there are a couple changes...

This tank is now "dirty", I originally gave up on dirt tanks cause it always looked ugly and became a mess for me. But once I tried pool filter sand as a top soil then dirt tanks became AMAZING.

Also moved the 2 baby blue rams and 1 neon tetra out as soon as I found out ym Blue Velvets were still producing babies!

Here are some pictures.

There is 1 female, 1 male and 2 unknowns/juvies in this tank. This is my only female shrimp hiding under a piece of Driftwood.

Plants:
-Java Fern
-Flame Moss
-The super tiny anubias(forgot what they were named)
-Sag (?)
-Amazon Sword
-Aluminum Plant (Terrestrial)
-Umbrella Sedge (Terrestrial)
-Pandanus Utilus (Terrestrial)

Bottom of the tank busted this morning. Woke up to water pouring out the bottom. Lost all but my 1 female shrimp and my 1 otto which I was able to catch before it completely emptied and was impossible to find the smaller, more transparent males and juvies. Bought a brand new 10g, thinking I might go for a different type of Neo and all my plants are currently chilling in the pond outside until I get this set up.

Sad news, but good that you were able to save some of the critters!
Keep up the good work and show us pictures of the new tank setup.
