After finally getting a light for the 12 gallon long, I was able to post some update. I was trying to find a way to mount the hydroponic light and the easier way was with pvc pipe. But the smallest pvc I can find at HD was 1/2", which is still really bulky compare to a 12 gallon long. Instead, I found some very low profile 1/2" copper pipe and fittings, so I gave it a try.
I am not sure how well the copper pipe will withstand the oxidation, but since it's indoor, I am hopping it will be alright...If not, I will paint it black.
Anyone try filling a tank with air tubing? It actually works quite well, I used 2 tubing and it filled a 12 gallon in 40min. It barely kicked up anything.
Planted and filled on 5/17, but something didn't seem right... wife said there's too much going on in such a small tank. She's not a hobbyist, but I can't agree with her more.
Replanted 2 days later after finding an amazing plant in a LFS, Red Nasaea? Liked it much better.
Also added jello CO2. Still don't quite understand how plants can get CO2 from the bubble flowing straight to the top.
Thanks for looking. and thanks wife for the feedback and let me mess around with fish tank all weekend!
