Hello! I am new to planted tanks, at least, in my mind. I started this tank when the petco $1 per gallon sale hit, and it all came together quickly. I was in love with Tanganyikan ciclids then, and knew very little about planted tanks. (New guy here, planted 55 gallon tang cichlid setup. Give me your opinions
After a ton of research, I started planting..and aimlessly at that. I was unhappy with the finished product, so I built a nano setup while learning more and more about planted tanks. (My Eheim Aquastyle 9 gallon
Now, here I am today. I pulled down the 55 setup, and have set out for my best effort yet.
[b]Filter: Eheim 2215 (going to build a co2 reactor, and using a cut-down spray bar)
Substrate: ADA aquasoil Amazonia NEW
pressurized Co2, EI dosing of ferts
Flora: Oh man, give me some time to compile the list
Fauna: A breeding pair of German blue rams, 30 Cardinal Tetras, 6-7 Corydoras, perhaps a few checkerboard cichlids also..Always looking for suggestions!
Pulled all of the rocks:
Made the sand about 1/8"....VERY thin layer to soften the rock against the glass. Started to outline the rock placement with aquasoil
1 9L bag of aqua soil...WOW a 9L bag goes A LONG way...Going to do another bag on just the backside, to build up the back wall against my large rock.
Redid my spray bar so it fits the width of the tank
The corgi didn't want to help
Was going to put in a large plant order, but I am not sure what to do yet. I was thinking glosso for a carpet plant, any suggestions?
