We got lucky this time. I saw him this morning gnawing on some algae. He seems to be fine.

UPDATE: Tank and all occupants are doing well, the amazon swords are fading less and showing some growth. The elodea has really taken off and i havn't trimmed in a while. Still havn't seen much growth at all from the DHG.

(Sorry for the blurry pic)

Tank looks great man! I really like the driftwood and the back left corner. Just a little tip. For less blurry pics, make sure you turn off any lights in the room the tank is in and preferably take the picture at night with the tank light still on. It will get rid of the aggrivating glares that make the pics blurry. Also, a $10 tripod from walmart does wonders for a camera. I know I have shaky hands, so I use a cheap one that somebody gave me and I was really surprised how much more crisper my photos came out.

Good job with the tank though man, I really love the extra filtration!

thanks for the tips and the tripod sounds like a really good idea. I had thought about a tripod but didn't realize there were any that cheap. I want to fill in the rest of the tank as there is alot of open space every where but the back left.

A little update. I noticed I have what appear to be some baby guppy fry swimming around the surface of the water. I've seen 7-8 but I'm sure there's more hiding out. They look to be 1-2 weeks old as they are a little bigger than 1/4 inch. I can't say what type they are but they have rounded tails. Either the long "fork" like features appear when they are older or these are the bumblebee variety.

UPDATE:
The tank has been taken over by elodea and endler's! Over the past few months the elodea grew out over the top of the aquarium and darkened everything beneath causing algae to grow everywhere.
MAY 5

JUNE 16

JULY 20

The endler's have been happily breeding and the 1 adult female has produced approximately 2 dozen offspring over a period of 3 months... about 4 every 2 weeks.
Today I decided to do some trimming, replanting, and cleaned the glass.

A pulled out a twisted mess of elodea today

The GBR's have been maturing and it appears i have 2 males and 1 female but no signs of breeding.
