290 Gallons in the Office Lobby

The picture below is about 2 months after the fill. The tank is still a work in progress. I'm very limited in the time I can give it right now so progress has been slow. We just now got our CO2 system functioning and I haven't started dosing ferts yet.

That's a very nice looking tank! I certainly wouldn't mind working late if I had to look at that all day. If this is the office tank, I wonder what the home version looks like.

Update:

After the initial pictures, the tank took the slow boat to ugly due to inadequate lighting (thanks to my initial vendor's suggestion) and lack of attention. I fired the old vendor and worked with a different company to get it back into shape. We replaced the LED strips with two, 48" 6-bulb ATI fixtures and got the CO2 system in shape. We also replaced the smaller 2217 Eheim that was just running chemical with an FX6 running mechanical and chemical. The only plants that are original to the tank are the rotala indica in the middle (which have colored up nicely since providing adequate lighting) and a few crypts and ferns. Everything else was pulled and the tank was replanted. These pictures are one month post replant. Apologies for the quality, but these were taken during the day and the lobby is full of floor to ceiling windows.

The first looked great but the second looks fantastic. Very nice tank. I would love to visit your lobby, the only place I go with a lobby fish tank is saltwater fish with a bunch of neon plastic "plants". I put plants in quote because they are so far from an imitation of a plant. Gross. Anyway, looks specular.

Those two, dense, ball like bushes really really make the tank stand out. You need more of those! Amazing tank for its size.

Very impressive tank. How are you diffusing the co2?

That is one gorgeous tank. My lobby has floor to ceiling windows too and I think a tank would be perfect in it. I am glad you were able to do this, it is inspiring!

How do you manage to re-plant and trim and do any tank maintenance? Looks like you would need a ladder to get down in there to the substrate, or have like 24" tongs/scissiors.

Wow, that's a good looking tank. Your new supplier/vendor seems to know his/her stuff a lot better than the old one. I like how it's grown in too. Very nice.

I've never regretted over engineering a system, but often regretted under engineering one.
