Last pictures before tear down. I'm moving next week! I'd like to rescape it in a similar fashion, but with less branches and few different plants. I recently ordered a Hydor inline heater and Atomic inline diffuser so that will help clean it up a bit.
Thanks! And yeah, I'm pretty sad about tearing this tank down, but I feel like it gives me a chance of improving on it. I'd like to get some auto dosers for my ferts sometime soon as well. I travel quite a bit so the ferts have been pretty inconsistent and the plants show.
Got the tank set back up after the move...changed the hardscape a bit and would like some advice.
I ordered some Nesaea pedicallata ''Golden'', Rotala rotundifolia , Cryptocoryne parva, and Glossostigma elatinoides. Should help fill in a bit. Thinking about getting rid of the sword. It seems out of place. There's some rotala behind the wood on the back left. I'm letting it grow out before I trim it back down to an inch or so.
Little bit embarrassed of these pictures, but it is what it is. Switched to EI dosing and am still working on getting co2 fine tuned. I added some Ottos to help clean up the plants a bit. Not really worrying to much about diatoms and algae. Just working on plant health.
Looking pretty good, there is kind of alot going on, thats my only thought. Im not sure how I feel about that sword in the corner. I dont love amazon swords because they get so big and make things look out of proportion. But thats super minor. In a few weeks you will have a nice jungle going.
I know exactly what you're saying with the sword. I just don't know what to put in its place.
Maybe just make a larger section of one of your other stem plants. Or as things fill in more you can remove it and spread everything else out. They are just such tank busters. Have you thought of a red plant? That could really be a nice pop of color in there. I like at least 1 red in my tanks.
