I too have a 40B with 4x39W

Wondering how all that light is working for you? I cut 2 of my lights as I figured they were just too much (algae) Im pretty clear now, but would love to go back to the 4 bulbs.

watercage I battled algae for awhile it's tapered off though. My plants seem to love all the extra lighting. (mostly low light plants)

Yeah, even though I was getting more algae, I definitely had faster growth as compared to running with the 2x39W.

Was thinking about maybe doing 2x39 then 4x39 in the middle of the light cycle for maybe 2 hours, then back to 2x39.

Tank looks great BTW.

That's how I roll! I stagger with an overlap and a lights off break mid day.

Kai808 Thank you and Lol! the name isn't a reference to "that incident" It is a biblical reference "Before the Fall" of mankind (the Garden of Eden). The pain in the butt part was after I got home. All of my rummy nose tetras died and I had a ridiculous algae bloom to boot. Yeah I have put off starting a journal as the pictures are all over the place on my external hard drive and filled with baby pictures of my daughter lol. I'll go through them sporadically and post them all soon enough. See you later homie!
