Mr Aqua 90-P [New fts 4/24]

So after having 3 tanks all under 20 gallons, i got tired pretty fast of doing all the water changes and maintenance on all of them, mostly because 2 of my tanks were upstairs, which meant i was carrying r/o water back and forth, and it turned into a huge pain! So i decided on my Christmas break that i would combine everything into one fairly large tank. So after some looking around, i decided the mr aqua 90-p (48 gallon) would be perfect. So enough blabbing, onto the pics of the "build."

These were the two tanks i tore down, my 3rd, the shrimp tank, will be torn down once i get the new tank cycled enough to add the shrimp safely.

On to the new tank
Build the new stand before xmas

scaping the tank

planting and filling, i wish i had more u.g, but for the time being i stuck some hc in the front corner spots until the u.g grows out enough to propogate some more.

And here it is after i finished planting it.

Its been a week since i set this up. been doing a lot of water changes and fine tuning. Finally got my overflow to stop sounding like a toilet and c02 is pretty dialed in, though im slowly increasing it day by day to see what my few fish can tolerate. Heres a description of the equipment.

Tank: Mr aqua 48 Gallon
Lighting: 36" Ray II (Might eventually use 2 of these)
C02: aquatek regulator, reactor
Filtration: Eshopps nano overflow, Cpr Wet/dry sump. Eheim 2232 (only has bio media, no mechanical filtration) pusing the c02 reactor.

Plants - carpet is U.G
Left side, elytine tiandra, tropica 049, blyxa in the back, some random stem plant that im looking to replace
Right side, Erios Perkeri, downi, blyxa, tropica 049, and still looking for a stem plant in the back right corner

branches have flame moss, im gonna see how well this grows, because the light is so high where the moss is, im afraid it might not do that great, if it doesnt, i will put fissidens in its place,

creatures - red rili/tiger shrimp will eventually be added
Not sure yet on fish

Thats about it, ill have to snap an equipment shot to post up, and continued shots of new growth. The doors on the cabinet are stained now, i hadnt done them yet in the pictures to make sure they didnt need any more sanding or adjusting once the tank was filled and everything settled. I also have a set of stainless steel outflow pipes on the way, one for each side so that should contrast well with the ray 2 on top of the tank.

I'm really digging the scape in that 48 gallon! That's going to look great as it fills in.

small update, got my stainless steel cross cut outake pipes, these are great at creating good surface agitation, my tank looks like a stream from the top now! Also got a hydro inline heater which was much needed, so temps are finally stabilized

Not much of an update, but i ordered another ray2. I was hoping one would be enough light, but after looking at the finnex par chart, i realized there par data is open air, and im not getting as good of a light spread as i wanted, the back of the tank looks rather dark, so i will have another ray 2 in a few days, and hopefully some mad pearling pictures will follow. The flame moss on the branches toward the top of the tank pearl like crazy right now, i had a little browning as it acclimated the past 2 weeks but its bouncing back with its usually bright green upward growth. the tropica is growing strangely, not sure why if its still just rooting in, its getting twisted growth, and the 2 stems of downi i had, have some transparency in the new growth, hopefully as they root in they will perk up, it might also be a c02 issue, ive been increasing c02 every other day and it still has not stressed the fish out, drop checker is pretty close to yellow throughout the entire light cycle so at least i know its not all degassing from the wet dry

Small update.
Removed the sump, was just out gassing the c02, went through a 5lb bottle in 5 days. So i ordered another eheim canister and will use a surface extractor to keep the top clean.
Growth is good, trimmed up the erios, most have split and shed off the original leaves so hoping in a few weeks i can crop them.
I put a few root tabs in and a few days later had a small thread algae outbreak, got what i could out, started a minor excel treatment, and letting the amanos devour the rest.
Got my other ray 2 light finally, so lighting is more even throughout and the plants are definitely perking up.
also added some microrasbora nana

Sweet tank. I eventually would like to get rid of all my nanos and focus on one larger tank. What substrate are you using? And where did you get the UG from?

I think your flame moss will do fine. In my 6g rimless, the flame moss has grown insanely under the Ray2. Surprisingly, even at a relatively close distance.

Im using the azoo plant grower bed, very similar to aquasoil without the ammonia spike when setting it up.

I got the U.G from a member on barrreport.com
in a few days or so ill be able to rip it up and replant small plugs again.

New fts. Some new plants and moved a Lot of stuff around. Brought the Erios to the front, removed the hc. Spread out the u.g now that its grown in enough. Brought the Blyxa more towards the middle on each hill. And using e.t as a transition
