First post. 10 gal low tech RCS tank.

The top picture is the current incarnation of this tank. I finished the re-scape tonight. Just plants, RCS and an Oto. The second picture image was before the re-scape. Third image is the original scape before I moved the tank. No particular theme just a happy green place for shrimp breeding. What do you think?

Please pardon the scratches. It is an old tank my brother gave me.

Thanks for the positive feed back. This is my first planted tank. Question... RCS are neocaridina. Are there any regular caridina that will be ok in the tank? I was thinking some greens but an afraid to reds will out compete any other shrimp.

I doubled the lighting and got a new filter. I had to plant to conform to lighting, now that I am rocking 45 PAR at the bottom I will be replanting soon. Expect pics in the next couple days.

Also added 3 assassin snails to control a bladder snail outbreak. Yeah, yeah I was over feeding. I know...

That's a gorgeous tank Casperhito! And is that an undergravel filter?
Wow Old School. Very cool!

Thank you for the compliment! Nope just a sponge filter. I have a less conspicuous filter to go in. At the time I had to make a shrimp safe filter.

I have an update on this tank. Last month I added flourite and diy c02 also a small waterfall filter. This month i re-scaped and took all the rock out. Stem plants at one corner, java than marimo covered foreground. DHG is planted! Took forever... Yay! Kept the diy co2 but started adding flourish, excel and root tabs. Kept a 1:6 profile though. I will post pics when the water clears.
