Going hightech but still can't aquascape

Planted tanks are proving addicting. I mean really, really addicting. So today I took the plunge and ordered my first CO2 regulator. Wish me luck, since I'm nervous about gassing all my fish. First thing is catching up to where I am with my low tech setup.

29 gallon
2 Finnex PX 360 mini canister filters
2X24w T5HO Fishneedit light
Eco-complete substrate
EI twice weekly dosing (KNO3, KH2PO4, K2SO4, Plantex+B, Iron chelate)

23 chili rasboras
9 Yunnanilus cruciatus
6 Dario hysginon
Malaysian trumpet snails
pond snails

I think I'm stocked, or just about, which is a shame since there are a bunch of other fish on my dream list. I would have loved to have perhaps a fourth species, but controlled myself.

Hygrophila difformis
H. lancea
H. sp 'tiger'
H. sp 'bold'
H. sp 'araguaia'
H. corymbosa 'siamensis'
H. polysperma 'sunset'
H. odora
Rotala macranda 'japan red'
R. sp 'green'
R. sp 'green narrow leaf'
R. sp 'yao yai'
R. sp 'bangladesh'
Lindernia sp 'india'
Limnophila sp 'wavy'

Like the fish the plants are largely Asian since I was building a loose biotope. I didn't control myself as well with the plants, but I can deal with a collectoritis tank.

New stuff
I've ordered the Ideal regulator sold by GLA along with an Atomic diffuser. Hoping for that to be a good setup to start with. I still need to get a cylinder and probably a dropchecker.
I've also ordered GH booster to replace my K2SO4.
Eventually I want to increase the light as well. I think I know what I want, but am completely unsure if it's what I should get.

Thank you!
I'm kind of learning as I go. So far the only problems I've had are slower growth along the sides. I lost a couple species out of my Hygro collection from that.

My Cornelius single stage regulator with Ideal needle valve and Atomic 55mm diffuser arrived on Monday! Haven't set it up yet, because I haven't gotten my cylinder. I'm off work tomorrow so hopefully I can drive around and find a place to get one. I'm excited, but kind of nervous at the same time.

My light is cheap, but effective...except for the three inches on both sides that it doesn't cover. I've had trouble there before, but it's getting worse. Plants dying or just not rooting. Not sure if it's a good idea or not but I have a 2X39w Odyssea T5HO just sitting around that I'd like to use while I save up for a correct size light (possibly stronger). I don't know if the overhang is going to cause a problem or not. Anybody know about that?

Fish are still doing well. I do have a lot of MTS shells I keep pulling out. No idea why they keep dying on me, sucks though.
