Finally back in the hobby with my 20 long!

Hi everyone,
So after keeping many different aquariums from freshwater to reef for years I have been out of the hobby for nearly four years while I was at college. But now im beginning grad school (UNCW for marine biology ), have my own apartment, and it's time to get back to what I love. I just wanted to share my 20 gallon long build as it progresses. Here is what I am thinking:

20 gallon long
2 24 inch HOT5 bulbs suspended above the tank
Sun Sun 303 canister filter
Pressurized CO2 system with 10 lb tank
Eco complete substrate

Stocking idea: (too much?)
6-10 cories
6-10 neons or other small tetra
2 Bolivian or German Rams

Because I didnt want to have to get a saw once I moved I decided to try to design and make all the required cuts for the DIY stand and then assemble it once there. It came out really well!

I also attached a picture of the hardscape idea I have. Ive got two weeks of cycling to determine the final design and the plants that will go in it.

What does everyone think of what Ive got? Opinion on the stocking list? Other helpful tips/suggestions? Thanks everyone for looking!

I really like the stand. Everything is coming together very nicely and I will be looking forward to seeing this tank progress.

I like your stock plan and I would do-

9-10 cardinal tetra
6-7 panda cories or salt and peppers
2 german blue rams

That's a great stand, and a nice wood scape in the tank.

Thank you all for the compliments! Tomorrow is first day of classes for me so Friday im going to get the CO2 filled up and get the pressurized system up and running this weekend.
Once CO2 levels look good and stable it will be time to figure out the plants.

Looks good so far! I like your hard scape layout. I'm working on tweaking my tanks scape for German Blue Rams, so I am interested to see how your tank develops!

Simply beautiful! I love the stand! Gorgeous color and really great design. I love the way you hung the lights. And if you ever wanted, you could use that stand as a piece of furniture for something other than a tank. Very nice!

Looking forward to see what you do with the tank, as well. Very nice start!

Congrats on graduating and starting grad school!

Thank you everyone again! So I actually had some time after classes and lab to run over and get CO2 tank filled up. Hope to set it up this weekend with some more pics. Then it is time to start shopping for plants which I have no idea on yet..lol
