5 gallon low-tech dirt tank

Ive decided to fix up an old 5 gallon tank I had sitting around. Not sure on the flora or fauna yet but have a nice idea. I'm also trying to do this as cheap as possible. Im going to try dirt in this tank because I've never done one and it'll be cheaper than a bag of Eco complete or aqua soil. For lighting I'm going to use a small clamp lamp and a low wattage bulb (15-20w). I'll get pics up tomorrow/technically later today.

Tank itself is about 15"L x 8"W x 10.5"H however it is a pentagon shape and holds either 5 or 5.5 gallons

I like the shape. What's the white if u don't mind me asking. I would defiantly cap the soil with something so it's not too messy.. get some sand from home depot. I paid 2.75 for a 50lb bag.

that white is sand that i had my friend pick up from florida. im going to get some black gravel tomorrow to cap the dirt with. Im really hoping that the contrast between the black gravel and white sand looks nice. And sorry about the picture quality I'm using my phone because my camrea is bad quality but its also out of batteries which I may also get tomorrow.
