The Heorot- second planted tank journal

CatB and I have been talking for AGES about setting up new tanks and FINALLY I have the opportunity to do so!
Blurb about the name-
Whilst setting up the tank, CatB and I put in a CD which happened to be Beowulf read in Old English. It just seemed to fit the tank and my room and so far its really fun to listen to. And it matches the algae-covered rocks, too :P
I worked for about a week washing and drying topsoil to make mud substrate! After it was all ready, I made some pottery clay, mixed it all together, slathered it in, and we topped it off with Black Diamond Blasting sand. GOOD GRACIOUS did that stuff take ages to rinse... After meticulously placing rocks obtained from Fall Creek, a turtle tank, and the Medeterranean sea, the hardscape was finally finished..
Next, DUN DUN DUUUUN! Plants! we're currently looking for plants to place in The Heorot, but for certain it's going to have Java Fern, Crypt 'wendtii' Green, Amazon Sword, Dwarf Hairgrass, and Java Moss (if i can find any!!). On the list of maybes is Water Wistera, Anacharis, and Onion plant.
I plan to let it be a place for my fry to grow up in, and once they move out i will probably get either a betta and some pygmy cories, or some other assortment of fish, if it doesnt turn out to be just a muppy hotel.
pictures will be posted soon, probably later tonight! They'll start at the final placement of the hardscape :P
More to come!

What size is the tank :O Make sure the sword is a dwarf or it will eat your tank alive. My 25g is completely overrun by 2 giant swords that started the size of the palm of my hand.

The red yarn is to help maintain the Golden Ratio when doing the layout?
