lol it isn't too hard growing the cucumber plant =p just takes some time until it pops some out

anyways I thought it would be neat because it would be a cycle of some sort where:

Take the water from the Aquarium (during WC) --> Give it to Cucumber plant

Cucumbers from cucumber plant --> Aquarium

thee cycle.

I see where your coming from good idea and very smart lol
So I found
Hikari shrimp cuisine $5:45
Fluval shrimp granules $7.49
Good prices? And which would you recommend more?
And how beneficial is it to add a new bloodline?

I would lean more towards Hikari because it's Japan XD and personally I look for foods that list astaxanthin because they help with the colouring of RCS (you can look it up if you wish).

I believe there are some people in this forum that sell high quality shrimp food like azoo or mosura (only ones that come to mind atm). But those are generally used for CRS rather than RCS.

RCS will eat about anything so I'd say any food should be okay. As long as you give them a variety (not too much protein).

and I wouldn't worry about the bloodline thing. But I guess it would help to prevent inbreeding although I don't find it too much of an issue, and maybe strengthen the next generation.

Ok then for now he bloodline thing will be a later issue
And I'll order hikari to feed them
Also something came into mind I've never ordered fish or shrimp online before but when I ordered the 6 RCS he said he ships Monday to wednesday I ordered Friday so basically it hasn't shipped yet? I saw that he can do 12 shrimp too is it possible for him to change it from 6 to 12 and keep it as he same order basically just adding 6 more?

Although I do have a question I'm planning on buying a sponge filter
I see some made for 10 and 20 gallons
Should I buy the one for 10 gallons or over filter with 20 gallons?
And does it still provide good water clarity and overall good filtration?
Thanks

Hiya, and I'm totally new to keeping shrimp but this guide says you are better off over filtering.

That's all I know!

How many did you get in the end? How are they settling in?

I got my first lot of rcs on Monday, they're great to watch

They will love that mountain of moss

Oh and another thing I noticed after having mine for a few days - all the green algae has gone from my bogwood. Super busy!
