Its located on the window sill with natural sunlight for 12-14 hours a day. No CO2. Will be dosing with flourish (only initially for a month or so). The filtration system has a capacity of 650l/ hr (External Hanging). The tank is almost 1 year old so well cycled with only gravel as substrate and no plants.
Have split the bottom into two zones. On the left is gravel with no plants and on the right, I'm using Amano Amazonia AS as bottom substrate (1-1.5 inch) covered by pool sand (0.5 inch). Have planted deep into the substrate, so hopefully they get the nutrients from Amazonia AS. The fishes were in there when i changed the substrate.
After the change, let the substrate sit for 2 weeks, cleaned up the algae (quite messy) and planted y'day. Hopefully the algae issue is lesser.
Hair grass on one side (away from sun) of the rock.
Glossostigma or Hemianthus Callitrichoides
The plant with a reddish color (could not figure out the name)
Well, this is what i think they are (given that i could not get the english names out from the store in Hong Kong and I could not understand what the chinese names were)
Please let me know the correct names, if I am wrong.
Except the hair grass, everything i well exposed to sunlight.
Fishes: 4 Zebra Danio (Trying to pull out the foreground plants with remarkable aquabatics), 6 Platys, 4 Neon Tetras, 1 each of a Guppy, Black Molly and Oto (or is it a siamese algae eater)
