New 20L Simple Planted Shrimp Low-Tech

So I got married last September and got a new apartment and downgraded my 125g cichlid tank to a 20L low tech planted tank.

Hardware:
Tank - 20L with glass top
Lighting: -Coralife 36W T5 (2x18W)
Filter - Aquaclear 50 with black sponge inlet filter
Substrate - Seachem Flourite 2-3"
Heater - None (room stays around 72F)

Fauna:
1 Chinese Algae Eater
2 Celestial Pearl Danio (died - could the algae eater have been the culprit??)
5 Amano shrimp

Flora:
Dwarf Hairgrass (Eleocharis acicularis)
HC (Hemianthus callitrichoides)
Telanthera (Alternanthera reineckii)

I grew the DHG and HC in emersed form starting on January 9th, with slow steady growth. I finally got it filled with water about a month ago and expected the HC to melt away since I wasnt doing CO2 injection, but it has been doing pretty well. I dose Flourish Excel 1-2 times weekly. The plan is to get more plants, maybe some anubias? Anyway here are some pictures of the progress.

Seems that the Co2 from the air helped the plants adapt to the ecosystem.
Interesting. I shall try that too.

Added some Ludwigia repens from eBay

My amano shrimp are destroying the Telanthera (Alternanthera reineckii)!!!
They must love how it tastes because they are eating it like crazy!
