30gal work in progress.

So this is the current layout of my 30 gal. It's still a work in progress and I still have a few midground plants to add and everything needs to grow and fill in. I still have a good bit of work to do on the foreground.

Plants:
Alternanthera reineckii
Anubias barteri var. nana
Bacopa caroliniana
Cabomba carolina
Cryptocoryne wendtii
Echinodorus tenellus
Echinodorus vesuvius
Hydrocotyle Leucocephala
Hygrophila difformis
Limnophila indica
Ludwigia arcuata
Ludwigia peruensis
Ludwigia repens
Mayaca fluviatilis
Rotala indica
Rotala wallichii

Please ignore the UV sterilizer. I only set it up to ensure that I did not have an algae bloom while I am away for spring break. I didn't want the person tending to my tank to have to worry about that. It is not a normal part of my setup.

Yes. Cabomba is the darker one on the right. I'm hoping it brightens up as it recovers. It's attempting to recover from nutrient deficiencies that I didn't recognize (i'm kinda new to fert dosing). I think I have it under control now. The on on the left side that is bright green is limnophila indica. I do have mayaca fluviatilis in the back left corner, but you can't see it will in this pic. This was taken a week ago. I will post a new pic when I get back to it tomorrow. Thanks for subscribing! :-) I'm about to add a couple small pieces of driftwood to elevate the anubias nana and I'm going to move the chain sword to the front left corner and use glossostigma for my main foreground and a nice bunch of hemianthus micranthemoides tapering down from the front right corner. Hopefully everything will be in place and growing by the end of next week.

Well I just got back from spring break to find that my limnophila indica, ludwigia repens, and ludwigia arcuata have doubled in size in 6 days. The repens and arcuata are now developing some red color on the new leaves. My cabomba has finally started growing now that I have the proper nutrients in the water. Everything looks to be growing well. I have some slight rearranging to do in order to add the new driftwood. I may post another pic later tonight or sometime tomorrow. I also added 5 amano shrimp and plan to add 10 red cherry shrimp. I have 2 julii cories, 5ish assassin snails, 6 otocinclus, and a school of 24 harlequin rasboras.

What are you using for light?
Are you injecting Co2?
What is your substrate?

I'm using T5HO 2x39W for lighting. Pressurized CO2 injection at about 1.5 bps. Substrate is Seachem Fluorite Dark with a layer of black gravel on top. I'm running 2 AquaClear 30 power filters right now, but I eventually want to switch to a canister filter if/when I have the money.

So here's how it looked when I got back. This is 6 days after the previous picture. I have not moved anything around yet.

Yeah. I'm surprised at how quickly everything started growing. I have more plants coming in this week to fill in more of the mid and foreground. Pogostemon erectus, Glossistigma elantinoides, Heteranthera zosterifolia, Hemianthus micranthemoides, and Rotala nanjenshan.

With background added. I used tinted window film. I'm pretty pleased how it turned out. Way better looking than cheap paper backgrounds.

Here it is after some trimming, rearranging, and addition of the driftwood. Hopefully the crypts will fill in and provide a nice medium height plant in the center. This should be the final arrangement for the left side of the tank. I get a few more plants in this week for the right side. I'm going to use glossostigma for the central foreground area. I might get another anubias nana to fill in the gap between the other two on the driftwood.

Thanks. I'll do that when I get closer to getting one. It's not on the top of my list right now though. Maybe this summer.
