On the 12 gallon long I decided it was time to go full carpet on the HC. Added some barriers between the dwarf hairgrass and the HC and spread out the HC to fill out the substrate. I will temporarily be adding CO2 and very light fertilizers to this tank until the HC fills in, and then will be back to no CO2, no ferts. I haven't had CO2 on this tank since initial setup, so it will be interesting to see if I see any changes in breeding and baby survival rate occur.
I am still waiting for some plants on the 20 gallon long from the Florida Aquatics group order. I put in some Fissidens and Rotala Rotundfolia which I have on hand, but am waiting on some Christmas moss to attach to the driftwood, Crypt Pavra to go between the rocks on the right, and some clover to go around the rock on the left. I may add some more crypts as well but want to see what described above looks like first. I added six of my Rili for the time being to help the tank cycle, they will be removed in a month or so and the more permanent occupants added.
