what bulbs should i be using, i just feel like 10w's might not be enough, and i am almost positive 18w was too much, i dont want to loose any plants either. Should i exchange the 10w for 14w?

IDK, never have used those before but I am really thinking about changing over to them in my 10gal..let me know how it works out though! I have just started to pay attention to those PAR reading reports haha!

Well you might wanna do 14w bulb, I mean your crypts would do fine with the 10w bulb most likely, but HC wants least some decent light, it will grow but it'll grow up instead of horizontal. well I have a 10gal tank and everything does fine with 1 13w CF light with a crappy reflector, might as well not even be there haha, and i grow crypts, fiss. fontanus, pigmy chain sword, pelia, rolata, moss, java, and more that I dont wanna list ha!

cool, yea, i think i will lower the lights closer to the hood and see how the 10's do. i may give it like 3-4 days, see if i notice anything bad. the 18w seemed to have been doing good, but i did have some algae outbreaks, nothing serious, just some on the glass front and the hood.

hmm, ya sounds like a good plan, I'd wait least a week or so to see some real results, when I switched my main tank over to high lights i didn't notice much change til after the first week or so. well, algae on the glass is normal GDA (green dust algae) is what most people call it. And if you add some extra PO4 to your tank, it will soften it and algae eaters will be able to clean it for you, like otto's..

Pictures of how you hooked it up to the AC30?

i will try and explain it, i took the media basket out, ran the line down the inside (between the basket and media) then put the outlet in the middle of the sponge. Theory is that the co2 will dissolve as the water moves through the filter. Dunno how well it will do, but i am sure its better than nothing. Might get a nano diffuser for it.

So did you cut a hole in the lid for the line to come out? Or do you not keep the lid on the filter? I'd be interested in pictures anyway if that's possible ?

i just ran the line out the exit for the water. Using co2 resistant line so its pretty stiff. I need to get a drop checker i guess and see if its working to diffuse it. Gimme a min and i will take a picture

Oh haha. You just ran the line straight in through the output area of the AC30. I see now. But I guess it doesn't matter since you won that item on ebay :P

Well, the regulator is for the 55g in the bed room. The 15 is at least 60ft of tubing away. And I would have to like, stable it to the ceiling.
