Mike's 60g tank

here is my first tank journal.
tank: 60gal
substrate: 1st layer pumice + aquasoil new amazonia + Hillsborough rocks
filter: XP2+ lily pipe
heater: hydor ETH 200w
lighting: DIY led lighting
Co2- pressurize + EI dosing


upgrading from my 30gal to a 60gal tank.
my 30:


8/26/10


9/2/10
put in pumice+aquasoil+ Hillsborough rocks(from landscape store)


9/4/10
got manzanita + rearranging scape



9/5/10
got the scape i wanted


9/9/10
dry start HC


10/30/10
fill tank with water + transferring some plants from my 30g


11/30/11


HC is not growing as fast as i thought it would.

I don't know how I feel about the manzanita placement but I like how the rocks are placed. I can't wait to see it grown in

Looking great.... but i would move some of those plants that's covering the view of your rocks on the right... just a suggestion...

very nice but i think the rocks are obscured as some1 mentioned prevously

yeah, been meaning to clear out those plants and replace them with HC, but i'm having a difficult time growing HC, they all melted. as you can see from the 1/30 photo, i have hc and 3/24 photo most of them are gone.

Others may disagree, but I really like how you have blended with DW and rocks. It really creates a lot of depth and character.

I literally love my aquarium(s).

Thanks, still waiting for the HC to cover up the foreground. my 4th attempt. i think i figured out why HC was not growing( bad co2 diffusion).
