Andrew's 5 Gallon Emersed Tank (56K warning!)

Here's my 5 gallon emersed tank. This is after 8 or so months of (unintentional) neglect. I've only started a somewhat regular misting schedule a few days ago. Substrate is regular topsoil.

A side view of the tank:

The whole tank:

My mixed bunch of Ludwigia and some DHG "Belem":

Ludwigia palustris flowers:

Ludwigia senegalensis:

Ludwigia senegalensis, Lindernia sp. India, and unidentified Cryptocoryne (either C. lucens or C. wendtii "narrow")

A half-decent view of the whole setup:

Enjoy!

This is my plant bank of sorts. So yeah, it's just for plant growth.

That looks pretty nice!

You have to love the emersed setups, as they require next to no maintenance at all.

Do you have any plans to trim it up a bit and add in some new species?

Have you changed the water out at all lately? Recently I drained my 5 gal em tank out, added water back in and fertilized it, and wow the growth was pretty nice...

I do have some plans to thin out the Ludwigia senegalensis a bit. As for changing the water, that seems like it would be rather difficult, but is an idea that I will keep in mind.

Anyone know anything about the flowers? I've been told that they're Lobelia erinus, but all I can find about that species indicates that it is a terrestrial garden plant.

Man, you could make an awesome wabi kusa out of that. Just wrap some sphagnum moss around a rock and tie all those emersed stems and dhg around it. Dooo eeeet.

Wabi Kusa is just an Aquascape Katamari
