Rballi's 75 Gallon Planted
I have been stalking this forum for months and months now but have yet to have posted anything. I have a blog that I have done my other journals on but I thought I might be more feedback on this forum. We just finished school and moved back to Colorado. Instead of packing up all of my tanks and dealing with that madness my wife said I should consolidate into a bigger tank and sell everything before we move. So I pieced everything out which took a couple months and started my planning for a 75 gallon. After doing a lot of searching, and with lots of time to plan, i decided to build my own stand. It will be my first woodworking project ever so I was kind of nervous to put that much money into something with the possibility that it could go horribly wrong, but i think it came out pretty good.
So here is the plan for the tank.
Stand: Pine DIY stand
Tank: Used 75 gallon (48.5x18.5x21) from local pet store going out of business
lighting: 4x55 watt kit from AH Supply (two ballasts)
Substrate: 80 lbs EcoComplete
ferts: EI dosing method
Filtration: Eheim Classic 2217 (used off ebay) and Eheim 2215
Co2: 20 lbs tank with Milwaukee Regulator; not sure of diffusion method yet, inline diffusor possibly? Any suggestions?
Heater: Hydor inline 300 Watt Edit: DIY In-line heater combo inline diffusor
Fauna: Group of 5-6 Discus (found local breeder here in Denver area)
15 or so rummynose tetras
3 apistograma (not sure which variety yet)
3-4 blue rams
8-10 panda cory
2-3 Bristlenose plecos
6 Apistogramma cf. Eunotus "Tail Stripe" WILD
8 Bronze Corydoras
10-12 Cardinal Tetras
(never stocked a tank this big so I am not sure how i am doing here)
Staurogyne Repen-not sure where to find this locally, or online
varias anubias and swords, needle leaf java fern
still not decided on the rest.
-Cryptocoryne Wendtii Green
-Cryptocoryne Wendtii Red
-Alternanthera Reineckii Var. Roseafolia
-Rotala Indica (Rotala Rotundifolia)
-Echinodorus Bleheri (Amazon Sword)
-Echinodorus Bleheri Compacta (Amazon Compacta Sword)
-Echinodorus Cordifolius 'Marble Queen'
-Echinodorus Kleiner Bar
Any comments would be appreciated as i still have a month or so to plan this out. I am kind of concerned with if i have enough adequate filtration or should i find something else to supplement or is it more a question of enough circulation, especially if i do an inline diffusor and heater on the 2217. Thanks in advance.
